Fourth and fifth graders are learning how to build levees. They had a great time getting messy and testing their ideas!
Our teachers are keeping it cool in summer school!
Mrs. Hilt's 2nd and 3rd graders practiced push and pull when learning about force and motion in science.
Students in summer school got to make a shake table and test out how a structure they built might last during an earthquake. We are loving our summer school learning experiences!

The fifth and sixth grade science classes used their knowledge of the scientific method to create a science fair project of their choosing. After spending some time researching their topic, students put their knowledge into a presentation and then presented their findings to the younger elementary classes.

We are excited to report our GR8 State Track & Field results!
Wyatt Irwin took home the State Champion in high jump.
Josh Townsend placed 3rd in the 1600m and took 5th place in the 800m.
Landon Mason earned 15th in discus and 16th in shot put.
Michael Smith finished 12th in the 300m hurdles and 14th in the 110m hurdles.
The girls team of Savannah Nilson, Lexi VanBrocklin, Hannah Meyer, Sophia Weis 4x800 placed 14th.
Lana Rebikh placed 15th in long jump.

2020-21 Activities Awards will be held Monday, May 24th at 6:30 p.m. in the Big Gym. We are celebrating GRHS sports and activities accomplishments from this year. Cookies and drinks will be provided by the Booster Club. Way to go Tigers!
Today is the last school day for our GRHS seniors.
We thought it would be appropriate to take a look back at their first year as kindergarten students in Green Ridge. On Sunday at 2 p.m., these students will be celebrated as official graduates of the Green Ridge R-VIII School District.

BASEBALL DISTRICT UPDATE: The District game today is now going to be played in California High School. First pitch will be at 7 p.m.
Tonight’s Green Ridge district baseball game has been postponed to tomorrow, Tuesday May 18th at 8 pm. The game will now be played in Marshall.

State Seeks Public Input on Plan to Use K-12 COVID Relief Funds:
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is gathering public input on its American Rescue Plan (ARP) for the use of federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds. Input is being gathered from a variety of education stakeholders to address the most important steps that can be taken to support unfinished learning and the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students and school staff. Please provide your responses on the Stakeholder Survey link below by Wednesday, May 19, 2021. The survey should take less than five minutes to complete.
