The Running Tigers benefited from cooler temperatures yesterday at the Smith-Cotton XC Invitational. Across the board our runners ran faster than the previous meet - some significantly faster. ๐
Congratulations to Max Knoernschild who brought home a 5th place medal, quite a feat in a pack of 68 runners. Also, congrats to Rylee Donaldson and Zoe Schleicher who both finished in the top 25 of their races.ย

HS Soccer was on the road at Boonville Thursday night. The Tigers fell behind quickly as a ball from the opening kickoff was misplayed which resulted in a Boonville score just 14 seconds into the game. The Pirates again scored with just under 5 minutes left in the half to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
The Tigers came out aggressively after halftime and punched in a goal just over 3 minutes into the half. Reid Hagedorn sent a pass through the defense that Max Tylar put into the net to get the score to 2-1. Just over 2 minutes later Tylar again found the back of the net when Jack Hoos took a direct kick from just inside midfield which the goalie deflected. Tylar was there to hit the deflection past the keeper and bring the game to a tie. GR had several additional opportunities and held off a few solid chances from Boonville to finish the game in a 2-2 tie. Due to inclement weather there was no overtime or JV contest as planned. The Tigers are back at home on Tuesday vs. LaMonte.
The students in Intro to FACS had fun cooking up Country Chicken Bites with Mac-n-Cheese today!

We found a few Waldo's hanging out with Abraham Lincoln. Our 5th and 6th grade team made the most of picture day!

Varsity soccer closed out the Clinton Cup with a 1-0 win vs. St. Paul's. Denver Bannister and RJ Hampton-Shultz combined for the shutout in regulation and force the game to penalty kicks. Goals by Reid Hagedorn and Max Tylar combined with 2 stops from RJ forced a second sudden death round. The Tigers second shooter, Jaden Xiloj found the back of the net, and RJ came up with the huge stop on the Saints final attempt to give the Tigers the win. They are back in action in Sedalia on Tuesday vs. Sacred Heart
The Running Tigers cross country team faced a miserably hot first meet of the season today in Marshall. Despite the tough competition and sweltering heat nearly half the team managed to bring home medals. We're super proud of everyone as they fought through their nervous jitters to start the season.
๐ Congrats to the following Tigers who medaled:
Trenton Sawyer: 19th, Varsity Boysย ย
Rylee Donaldson: 8th, Varsity Girlsย
Max Knoernschild: 6th, Jr. High Boysย

Although the Tigers had multiple scoring opportunities in the first half, Paseo was able to thwart most of the chances. Trenton Sawyer took a pass from Jaden Xiloj with just over 15 minutes to play to net to net the Tigers first goal. The Tigers again controlled much of the tempo in the second half.
