The fifth and sixth grade science classes used their knowledge of the scientific method to create a science fair project of their choosing. After spending some time researching their topic, students put their knowledge into a presentation and then presented their findings to the younger elementary classes.

We are excited to report our GR8 State Track & Field results!
Wyatt Irwin took home the State Champion in high jump.
Josh Townsend placed 3rd in the 1600m and took 5th place in the 800m.
Landon Mason earned 15th in discus and 16th in shot put.
Michael Smith finished 12th in the 300m hurdles and 14th in the 110m hurdles.
The girls team of Savannah Nilson, Lexi VanBrocklin, Hannah Meyer, Sophia Weis 4x800 placed 14th.
Lana Rebikh placed 15th in long jump.

2020-21 Activities Awards will be held Monday, May 24th at 6:30 p.m. in the Big Gym. We are celebrating GRHS sports and activities accomplishments from this year. Cookies and drinks will be provided by the Booster Club. Way to go Tigers!
Today is the last school day for our GRHS seniors.
We thought it would be appropriate to take a look back at their first year as kindergarten students in Green Ridge. On Sunday at 2 p.m., these students will be celebrated as official graduates of the Green Ridge R-VIII School District.

BASEBALL DISTRICT UPDATE: The District game today is now going to be played in California High School. First pitch will be at 7 p.m.
Tonight’s Green Ridge district baseball game has been postponed to tomorrow, Tuesday May 18th at 8 pm. The game will now be played in Marshall.

State Seeks Public Input on Plan to Use K-12 COVID Relief Funds:
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is gathering public input on its American Rescue Plan (ARP) for the use of federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds. Input is being gathered from a variety of education stakeholders to address the most important steps that can be taken to support unfinished learning and the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students and school staff. Please provide your responses on the Stakeholder Survey link below by Wednesday, May 19, 2021. The survey should take less than five minutes to complete.

The HS Softball season may be over, but that means the awards are coming in. Congratulations to these GR8 Lady Tiger athletes!
Kailyn Hoos and Maria Heuman were all-conference. Addie Berry was all-conference honorable mention. All three of them were first team all-district. Congratulations ladies!
TODAY we celebrate National School Nurse Day! We think our school nurse is pretty special! Thank you, Missi Larimore, for taking such good care of our GR8 students and staff.
Plese see the attached letter from Dr. Burkhart regarding a change in COVID-related protocols for our GR8 schools on Wednesday, May 12. As per the approved Re-Entry Plan from the beginning of the school year, masks will be optional for staff and students when PCHC lifts the mask rule. Masks are optional for staff and students beginning Wednesday, May 12.

Over the past few weeks, students in Mrs. Sleeper's class have been working on animal research papers. They picked an animal, researched it on their chromebooks, and took notes over their animals. They then turned that information into a research paper and made it into a poster to display in the hallway. GR8 job, students!
District softball update:
The Lady Tigers beat Smithton in their first round of district play last night 14-4 in 4.5 innings. Kayley Goodman earned the victory on the mound, with solid defense behind her. Offensively, the Tigers finished with 14 hits. Senior, Addie Berry finished the night 3 for 4. On top of that, both Addie Berry and Matti Mergen contributed 3 RBIs. The Lady Tigers will take on Lincoln in the semifinal game of Districts on Wednesday at 4:00. GR8 job, TIGERS! Keep up the great work!
